Kids Discuss the War on Terror

It isn't easy to talk about terror with children, but as our kiddie cabinet shows us, it's important. These third and fourth graders from Immaculate Conception School sat down with Chris Cuomo and told him what they know about ISIS, Muslim people and how America treats terrorists.

    Mr Cuomo,

I enjoyed most of this interview but took issue with one thing you said. You asked this kids "What religion is ISIS?" One kid said "Muslim?" and you responded "Yes – Muslim". I take issue with this because those in ISIS CLAIM to be muslim but are no more Muslim than any other radical organization is what they claim to be (including Christian). True Muslim communities globally have condemned the actions by ISIS and have said they do not follow Islam. So you set up the kids for the rest of the interview thinking that Muslim = ISIS or vice versa. How confusing is that for kids? Adults have a difficult enough time separating this much less children. Food for thought.
