Alisyn Camerota, Dr. Sanjay Gupta and Kaci Hickox's attorney Norman Siegel discuss whether the nurse should submit to quarantine, her constitutional rights and the public's opinion of her decision.
We asked our Twitter followers what they think. The responses were mixed, with some in favor of Hickox, and others that support a quarantine. Click to see a couple:
Now there's news that she left her house and took a bike ride, which isn't news at all in any other situation. What's your take on the controvery surrounding Kaci Hickox?
Yes, she should. As one doctor says; she has the right to volunteer herself; she doesn't have the right to volunteer her community. She doesn't know that she's not going to get sick.
I think so. I wrote an article yesterday on my blog UnprecedentedMediocrity.com that sums up my views. Its been viewed about 9,000 times in the past 12 hours and all over Maine mostly, imagine that. But the artile is titled Ebola Nurse: The Most Selfish Hero You Will Ever Meet. I think she is a hero for workin overseas and selfish for simply adding to the fear. Americans are coming to terms with Ebola and Understanding it. We keep hearing a 21 day waiting period is the the only way to know for sure. She refused to give America that comfort.
Selfish! arrogant! irresponsible! Should not be allowed to practice nursing.
