A suspected ISIS recruit is stopped at a U.S. airport. A nurse's assistant in Spain is the first known person to contract Ebola outside Africa. And the Supreme Court clears the way for gay marriage in five more states.
It's Tuesday, and here are the "5 things to know for your New Day."
1. ISIS
Joining the fight? Federal authorities say he was on his way to fight for ISIS, but 19-year-old Mohammed Hamzah Khan never made it out of Chicago. Federal agents pounced as soon as he cleared security at O'Hare International Airport over the weekend. A round-trip ticket had been purchased for Khan from Chicago to Istanbul, Turkey. A search of his parents' home, where he lived, turned up papers supporting ISIS and jihadist causes, court documents say. Now Khan's charged with one count of attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. The charge he faces carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
2. EBOLA
Another Ebola first: A nurse's assistant in Spain is the first person known to have contracted Ebola outside of Africa. The woman helped treat a Spanish missionary and a Spanish priest, both of whom had contracted Ebola in West Africa. Both died after returning to Spain. Health officials said she developed symptoms on September 30, and they are trying to find everyone the assistant may have had contact with while contagious. So far, there are no other known cases in Spain.
3. SUPREME COURT AND SAME-SEX MARRIAGE
Roadblock removed: The U.S. Supreme Court has cleared the way for same-sex marriages in five more states. The court refused to hear cases from Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin, which are seeking to keep their same-sex marriage bans in place. Experts say its refusal to hear the cases from those five states also means that six more states - Colorado, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kansas, West Virginia, and Wyoming - could soon have to lift their bans on same-sex marriage, because they are covered by the same circuit appeals courts that initially struck down the prohibitions.
4. HONG KONG
Talks in the works: The Hong Kong government and pro-democracy protesters have agreed to hold several rounds of talks. The breakthrough came yesterday after preliminary meetings were held. "We hope to have a frank, direct and mutually (respectful dialogue)," a government spokesman said. "We have very good progress, and we have agreed on three principles of the dialogue, and we hope to have this meeting as soon as possible." The agreement to hold talks seemed to ease tensions in Hong Kong, where fewer protesters manned barricades.
5. TROOPER SHOOTING LETTER
Letter found: A handwritten letter believed to have been penned by the suspect in last month's ambush of two Pennsylvania State Police troopers details how he shot the officers and then escaped, two senior law enforcement officials told CNN yesterday. The letter was found during the manhunt for Eric Matthew Frein. It does not offer a motive for the shooting, and authorities aren't sure if the letter was left on purpose or by accident. But based on details contained in it, authorities think it was written by Frein, the officials said.

This baz turrd should be beheaded on the Whitehouse Lawn in front of the public. This would stop this ISIS insanity from starting in the United States. He needs no trial and all of these vermin need instant death. That is the cure for this.
Let these ISIS people go. In fact help them by first revoking their US citizenship, seizing their passports, and then giving them a one-way trip to some xxx-enstan country and parachute them down to the cesspool in which they truly belong. Abudabe be prayised.
let him go? Are you nutz?
