This Sunday is the next big test for Team USA at the World Cup, but some challenges are mounting for their match against Portugal.
For example, they'll be without striker Jozy Altidore, they're playing in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, and they believe Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo will take the field.
On "New Day" Friday, Team USA soccer player Matt Besler said even though he believes Ronaldo is the best player in the world, the team isn't solely focused on him.
“If the U.S. plays our best soccer, we’re gonna be able to win the game and advance to the next round,” Besler said.
But what about the heat and humidity?
CNN's Lara Baldesarra described the conditions at Arena da Amazonia in Manaus saying: “It feels like you’re suffocating just trying to stand in this humidity."
But former Major League Soccer defender Greg Lalas doesn't think the weather is something to worry about for Team USA because many of the players have worked in similar conditions before.
“Many of these players … they all have played in Houston in July and August, and if you look at that heat and humidity, it's very similar,” Lalas said.
