Donald Sterling: 'I Was Baited'

Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling says he's sorry but feels he was "baited" to make racist comments, nearly two weeks after the NBA fined him and banned him for life for his remarks in a recorded conversation.

"When I listen to that tape, I don't even know how I can say words like that. ... I don't know why the girl had me say those things," he told CNN's Anderson Cooper in an exclusive interview set to air on Monday.

"You're saying you were set up?" Cooper asked.

"Well yes, I was baited," Sterling said. "I mean, that's not the way I talk. I don't talk about people for one thing, ever. I talk about ideas and other things. I don't talk about people."

Sterling, an 80-year-old married lawyer and billionaire real-estate investor, hasn't spoken publicly about the accusations since celebrity gossip website TMZ posted a 10-minute audio recording of him that drew widespread condemnation from fans, players and the league.

The full interview will air tonight on CNN at 8pm ET.

Dig a Hole. "I don't think Magic Johnson is a good role model for the children of Los Angeles." Wow. The same man who put the Magic Johnson Theatre on Crenshaw Blvd so children of Los Angeles can have entertainment. Magic who opened several 24 Hour Fitnesses/ Starbucks/ and TGIF restaurants that were overlooked in having access to such establishments. Don, ya might want to do some research on what Magic has done for Los Angeles and it's children before you talk down about him.

OK...in another interview he was quoted as saying he just said those things because he was trying to have sex with her. He is a married, 80 year old man...why is he trying to have sex with her to begin with??

Sorry but 40 plus years of housing discrimination is NOT one mistake. It's a pattern of behavior, and behavior of the worst kind with horrific rippling societal side-effects.
