10 Things You Didn't Know About Michaela Pereira

Michaela Pereira is our lovable news anchor on “New Day” alongside Chris Cuomo and Kate Bolduan at 6am ET, and co-anchor of “@THIS HOUR” with John Berman at 11am ET / 8am PT.

She moved to New York last year for the launch of ‘New Day,” and for nine years before that, she was the co-host of “KTLA Morning News” in Los Angeles. We may have plucked her from the golden state, but don’t worry west coast fans, you can still see her weekdays at 8am PT!

Here, Michaela shares 10 things even her super fans might not know about her:

1. Firmly believe white chocolate is NOT chocolate

2. Snort when I laugh. It makes Indra giggle. Which in turn makes me laugh...and end up snorting again

3. Learned how to drive a snowmobile when I was about 8

4. Have worn/needed glasses/contacts since I was 7

5. Love train travel

6. Don't believe in regrets

7. LOVE foreign & classic films

8. Used to be afraid of dogs but thanks to a chow mix named Cody & a Maltese called Rocky I have seen the light

9. Was female athlete of the year my senior year in high school

10. Have performed 3 marriage ceremonies .... And one vow renewal... All for dear friends (above image is of former CNN'er Erica Hill and Dave Yount!)

Thank you for your moving and insightful stories of your adoption and search for your birth parents. it was very moving for me to read and thank you for sharing such intimate family moments. i wish you and your family much happiness and joy. perhaps your parents could write a book from their perspective of their "chosen family" if it wouldn't be to intrusive for you all.

Michaela, how did you manage to hold back your tears? I cried throughout most of your story and I thank you for sharing it. I am a Jamaican and my mother was born in Cambridge and dad in Anchovy Saint James. I was born in Buff Bay Portland and I migrate to the US in 85'; I have made many trips back over the years but my most recent trip was in August of this year. The people are loving, always smiling and it rings true when they say "No problem"
I take comfort in the fact that our Motto stands for our many nationals, living together as one people and as such we are "Out of Many, One People" Thanks again for sharing your story.

Michaela, thanks for sharing your wonderful story. How did you manage to hold back your tears? I cried throughout the entire story; not because i am soft on the inside, but because it touched my soul. I am a jamaican, who was born there in Buff Bay Portland in 1955 and have made many trips back since migrating to the US in 1985. My most recent visit was in August this year and I am amazed that I am welcome by everyone with the words "No problem man"
Yes, we are a small country but we are extra large; as such, we are "Out of Many, One People" Thanks again for your store and for making me cry. My mother was born in Cambridge and my father in Anchovy Saint James Jamaica; so for you going to Cambridge, was even more powerful.
