Sometimes fate intervenes.
That's what Detective Sean Conway said after he stopped a man from jumping on the tracks at Boston's Park Street station on Wednesday.
"It was just the right place at the right time, with a little bit of luck," Detective Conway told "New Day" Friday.
Surveillance footage from CNN affiliate WCVB shows a man attempting to leap off a subway platform before being snatched away mid-air at the last second.
The transit cop said he was on a different platform at the station when he "heard a commotion;" that's when he changed locations and became a hero.
“I made the decision to grab him," Detective Conway humbly said. "I just committed to pulling him as hard as I could and also committed to making sure that neither of us went into the pit.”
Conway said he checked with the hospital Thursday and the man was still under observation.
Police said the next train wasn't due in to the station for several minutes, but there was a high chance the man could have hit the electrified third rail.
