April is Child Abuse Awareness Month, and to start a conversation about this sensitive subject, New Day Weekend is highlighting an interview from 2013. Christi Paul got the opportunity to speak with a very brave little girl. Breann Hill was molested by her grandfather while at a sleepover at his house. Her parents Cyndi and Russ reflect on the day they confronted him and the difficult discussion of whether or not to prosecute their own family member.
I want to share that I was verbally, physically and SEXUALLY molested. I was adopted into a family where inbreeding was known and accepted. All I want is for my adopted mother to acknowledge my hurt and pain from her NOT protecting or apologizing to me. I doubt this will happen.
