This story really caught my attention because 8 years ago I was the girl who was sitting in court verses my parents trying to get emancipated. It was a little messy at home, my parents were going through a messy divorce and of course I was a know it all teen who thought I knew best. My boyfriend's family at the time encouraged me leaving home, stay with them, got me a lawyer the whole nine yards. It broke my mother's heart and she always had an open door and of course I just listened to my Exes family tell he how my parents don't love me or else it would of never came to this and on and on.. Well it went on for a good year little to no contact with my real family and it was one day I literally woke up and wa like what is wrong with these people? Why did they encourage me to leave my family? I knew I was "being a kid" but why did they encourage it, what was the benefit to them? And I called my mom and we talked and thought about it and owed her door back up to me while I attended college and today we have a better relationship then ever, not perfect but so much better. So to the girl, you're parents love you. Don't let this other family persuade you to cut ties with your family. Your mom and dad will always have their door open for you, they love you. You don't want a life without your parents regardless of what happened...go home.
