Miracle dog Daniel will finally get his day at the Rose Parade.
This little beagle mix was only six months old when he was scheduled to be put down in Florence, Alabama, in 2011.
He was put into a gas chamber with several other dogs but when workers at the animal control center opened the doors they were surprised to find a lone survivor. They named him Daniel after the bibical figure who survived in the lion's den.
Daniel found a home with Joe Dwyer, a motivational speaker from New Jersey, and tomorrow he will ride on the Lucy Pet Foundation float in the Rose Parade for New Year's Day.
Dwyer tells "New Day," "From my perspective, this is a dog who’s so upbeat and has a great attitude and now I think he knows his mission, and that’s how I believe he survived."

Hope President Obama ends all animal cruelty. Gas Chambers are a horrible death for millions of dogs AND cats! If we are truly a 'nation under God' we would treat God's creatures with respect. Instead we've made them into machines for our taste buds and clothing and treat them as garbage. Chicks are ground up alive or thrown on live piles to die in. Our country should be known for compassion and kindness to God's creatures. There is really no justice for them including the elephants and tigers who are forced to entertain out of fear. England and other countries have banned them. Why are we still making money on them? Jan, God's Creatures Ministry
