See Getty's Most Iconic Photos of 2013

As 2013 comes to a close, we're looking back at some of the most iconic moments.

This year brought both tragedy and triumph – from the Boston marathon bombings to the papal conclave.

Getty Images, one of the most respected photography agencies in the world, just released their best images of the year and CEO Jonathan Klein spoke with "New Day's" Kate Bolduan Thursday to share the results.

Klein says the organization selected the final images by first looking at the major events of the year.

"And then within that, can we find an iconic image which represents that event better than any others?"

Here's two of the images they chose:

Birth of the Royal Baby:

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge depart St. Mary's Hospital in London with their newborn son on Tuesday, July 23. The boy was born at 4:24 p.m. a day earlier, weighing 8 pounds, 6 ounces.

Boston Bombing:

Radio Personality Gives 'Granny' $80,000 Home Renovation

In today's edition of the "Good Stuff," a Colorado radio personality rewards a grandmother with an $80,000 home renovation. CNN's Chris Cuomo reports.

Denver radio DJ Willie B recently put up a question on his Facebook page: "What would you do if money were no object."

He got the usual responses: get a new car, go on a vacation... but one very special response stuck out.

One audience member, Stacy, responded that she would buy her Grandma new carpeting because the 90-year-old took care of her and her younger siblings after her single mother was murdered.

Willie jumped into action, got a bunch of friends in the construction industry together and, by the time they were through, Vivian Gallegos, better known as "Granny," got a new kitchen, new appliances, a new furnace, and much more.

They put in $80,000 in renovations in all.

Granny was shocked speechless.
