Is Being Gay as Sinful as 'Duck Dynasty' Star Says?

After Phil Robertson made some anti-gay remarks to GQ magazine, a discussion about Christianity and its stance on homosexuality was thrust to the front pages of social media.

Is there room for interpretation when discussing homosexuality and the Bible? Or are Christians placing too much importance on homosexuality?

"New Day" talked about these controversial questions with Pastor Robert Jeffress from the First Baptist Church of Dallas and Frank Schaeffer, a pastor who was defrocked by the Methodist Church after officiating his son's same-sex wedding.

What part of I Cor. 6:9-11 is not understood? “Don’t you know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, your were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”

So the religion founded on the RAPE of Mary piled on top of the INCEST of the Adam & Eve DYNASTY is getting all holier-than-thou. Happy Jehovah's DATE-RAPE-BABY BIRTHDAY, y'all.

The days when I am looking for validation of my sexual orientation from a hillbilly badly in need of a shower are long gone. Gay people in America will no longer settle for anything less than full civil rights. If others do not like it, feel free to leave. As the population continues to age, and the neanderthal bigots continue to die off, gay civil rights will become more and more of a reality.

In case you haven't noticed, younger demos are overwhelmingly in support of lgbt equality. There is no turning back to the dark ages.

The Bible has been used for everything from justifying slavery, to slaughtering non-believers in holy wars, allegedly in the name of Christ.

Don't proudly spout hate for others who are different and hide behind the Bible. There is nothing remotely spiritual about homophobic bigots.

Way to get on the gay bashing bandwagon you Jesus Freaks. Do you think that gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and transsexual children an families should be threatened. Do you think Hitler was right too about Jews and gay Germans?

The Bible is an offensive book full of crude and demeaning language written by humans hundreds of years ago and not by their "God".

We must remember that the Bible also says that the devil was a liar from the beginning and is the master of lies, and when we continue to lie to the church, our family, and ourselves about who God made us to be for His work and purpose, then the devil becomes our master and not God who created us! There are Pastors like Frank Schaeffer, and even Pope Frances, in these crucial end times who are receiving the truth and direction to continue to surrender to God as our Master in order to help in the work that "none would perish", but be ready for the Way, Truth, and he Life promised to all nations in God's Kingdom on earth, and forever.

yes, homosexuality is sodomy and is a sin. it is an abomination to the Lord. Lev.18

[22] Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
[26] Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
[27] (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)
[29] For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.

[13] If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

but in the New testament Jesus taught us forgiveness with His love. His sacrifice for our sins means we can accept Him as our Lord and Saviour, accept the Grace. We are then instructed to turn from our sins and repent and then receive eternal life as a joint heir with Him in God's kingdom but if we do not Hell is where we will end up!!!!!!

    -> Galatians 14-26

14For the whole Law [concerning human relationships] is [e]complied with in the one precept, You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself.(A) 15But if you bite and devour one another [in partisan strife], be careful that you [and your whole fellowship] are not consumed by one another. 16But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God). 17For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature); for these are antagonistic to each other [continually withstanding and in conflict with each other], so that you are not free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do. 18But if you are guided (led) by the [Holy] Spirit, you are not subject to the Law. 19Now the doings (practices) of the flesh are clear (obvious): they are immorality, impurity, indecency, 20Idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger (ill temper), selfishness, divisions (dissensions), party spirit (factions, sects with peculiar opinions, heresies), 21Envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, 23Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [[f]that can bring a charge]. 24And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires. 25If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit [g]we have our life in God, let us go forward [h]walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.] 26Let us not become vain, glorious and self-conceited, competitive and challenging and provoking and irritating to one another, envying and being jealous of one another.

Gal 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, meekness, and temperance!!!!!!!

The Holy Rollers cite the Bible as if it were a fact rather than a fairy tale. They might as well be citing Mary Poppins.

"Too much emphasis"? GQ asked the question! Everything he said was backed by the Bible, new and old testament. Also, that misguided pastor who was defrocked talked about Pope Francis saying "who am I to judge" when asked about homosexuality forgot to mention that Pope Francis is ALSO against redefining marriage to include gay couples. CNN's moderator was also biased in favor of gay marriage, which is all too typical.

All sins are equal. If you are not a Christian, then why do you care?
