Kate Bolduan Instagram Challenge: #Thankful Winners And Honorable Mentions!
From families large and small to the family pet, from beautiful sunrises to even prettier sunsets, your #Thankful photos were not only special but also showed there is A LOT to be thankful for this year. In fact, some submissions were so touching, we even shared them on "New Day" in honor of Thanksgiving.
But of course we still have to pick a winner! This week we have two because it was just too hard to choose one!
The first one is from @Mmtgeorge and adorable little Tori. Mary Margaret, thank you for sharing Tori's story with us. Her strength and perseverance are an inspiration to us all.
@Mmtgeorge: This holiday season I am thankful for this sweet, little nugget. Despite everything she's been through: surgeries, pain, hospital visits, she is the most joyous, loving, sweet, funny human being I've ever met. Through knowing her I've learned that the things I gripe and moan about, are really not so bad. She's taught me to complain less, and count my blessings more, a big one of those blessings being her. She's also helped me to figure out what I want to do with my life and career. Who knew a one year old could teach me so much! There's a lot I'm grateful for, but this year I'm especially grateful for having this little baby and her family as a part of my life. So very #thankful for my little buddy. #NewDay

New Day Midday – CEO: White males aren't 'protected class'
Today's "New Day Midday" looks at a female CEO that says white men can't be harassed, a rise in shark attacks and a manatee hug.
Study: No Such Thing as 'Fat but Fit'
A new comprehensive study says there is no such thing as fat but fit.
New York University's Dr. Natalie Azar spoke on "New Day" Tuesday saying:
"Over the last 10 years or so, there have been maybe a few studies that suggested that if you are normal or overweight based on your BMI (or Body Mass Index), that you're not at an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Hence this myth of being obese and healthy. What this study was aiming to do, was not necessarily to debunk that, but to say, well what is it about the BMI, is there something more specific, let's look at the metabolic profiles."
Azar says the major finding from the study is that people who are currently metabolically healthy..but are obese based on the BMI, had a higher risk after 10 years of cardiovascular events.
