'Knockout Game' Hurts Random Victims

It's a dangerous game, now reported in at least six states,  and it could happen to anyone walking down the street.

One minute you're minding your own business, the next a complete stranger deliberately knocks you to the ground.

Across the country, police are struggling to tally the full impact of this deadly game. CNN's Pamela Brown reports.

  1. Arm yourself

Now let me see, what are the reasons innocent law abiding people should not carry a loaded 45? especially in cities? We report this like it's some naughyness of children. It's raw animalistic violence and it's done in mob circumstances and out government and media are trying to white wash it. That's why we need to arm ourselves.

It is a hate crime to humanity and all who participate will end up in jail for assault or negligent homocide.

as mentioned, people now need to be extra aware of their surroundings. if you are, and one of these maggots tries to punch you, well, it's open fire time in retaliation. or laugh in his little face and dare him to still try it.....

I would love to see someone get hit and then pull out a 45 and empty it into one of these animals.

Yes and once someone is actually able to defend themselves against these b*stards until CNN or Al Sharpton starts race baiting another white person? Or the President gets involved? Where the h*ll is Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, or Oprah now? If I witness this and I perform a citizen's arrest with a concealed weapons permit and have to shoot one of these pr*cks when I try to intervene where is CNN's stance going to be?

Reporting this as a "game" and repeatedly calling it a game is not helpful. It is assault pure and simple.

I grew up a white boy in a predominately black and hispanic neighborhood, I was beaten by groups of blacks and hispanics on a weekly basis with nothing ever being done to the other kids. Do I hold some animosity towards those races? Of course. I know not all are like that and there are some that do lots of good in their communities, but the thugs I will always view the same.

Unfortunately, your parents didn't love you. Stop whining. What do you think happens to kids of color that grow up in predominately white areas. In the town where I grew up Indian families had their houses badly many of them moved. I wonder if those Indian families feel that all white people are inherently evil. Crawl back under your rock.

What's the matter CNN..Afraid of the Politically Correct Police? The black girl interviewed on this video has nothing to worry about. The perpetrators are black, the victims are white...but let's not profile, shall we?

Saying a "stranger deliberately knocks you to the ground" is really a glossed-over description. Watch the each case these victims are being sucker punched so hard they are unconscious before they even hit the ground – not even a chance to extend an arm to break the fall.

What's funny is how you refer to comments on a website as "bigotry," but you refer to these obviously bigoted and hateful acts only as "violence," as if there is no racial motive whatsoever.

Sorry if you are offended by people's outrage over this, but folks are just tired of the blatant double-standard and hypocrisy.
Admit it: if the tables were turned, and this story was about white teens targeting and knocking out black people, you wouldn't be so offended by the ensuing outrage. In fact, you would be joining the chorus.

You're bigot. This "game" doesn't have a single black victim, or non-black perpertrator. This is simple hate crime, perpertrated by blacks against asians, whites, hispanics.

So what's going to happen when they try to knock someone out who carries a legal firearm? For now it's mainly happening in the cities that have tried to prevent law abiding citizens from carrying a weapon for protection.

Once again, a tremendously strong argument for concealed-carry. Maybe if a few armed people blows away some of these subhuman scum, the others will think twice! These are spineless cowards who, if even the smallest of their female victims would confront them face to face, would soil themselves immediately! This type of vermin should be eradicated. And yes, where the hell is Rev. Al? CNN? MSNBC? Oh, right! It's only horrific if it happens to black people!

That is all CNN's coverage on this? Really? CNN should be ashamed of themselves, this type of attack is also happening right outside the CNN HQ in Atlanta and this is all they have to say? Is it because it is black kids attacking mostly white people? what if it was white kids attacking black elders? I saw a better write up about this on black america website. CNN put your head down in shame.

Racial violence and animosity is at its worst level, and hurting responsible blacks who try to overcome growing distrust of all blacks by the white community. It's only going to get worse.

Quite despicable. I wonder how they would react if a their family member became a victim. Will they hoot and holler then? Karma is a bitch I hope they get theirs.

The fact that the perpetrators shown in the videos were black just gives a cause for the Klan to rally up for a race war. These youths just became the modern day Klan in my eyes.

This needs to be stopped and these kids needs to be charged! They continue doing it because "the law" slaps them on their wrists and tells them to not do it again. We had an incident here in St. Louis, Missouri where an elderly Asian couple walking home from the store got in the mix of this stupid game. They ended up killing an innocent elderly man! Why would anyone get the satisfaction of knocking out someone who is just minding their own business. They would never dare step up to someone who they think they will not be able to "knockout". Another incident happened again when a group of African American teens played this game and left a white man in a ditch. The Mayor of St. Louis, luckily found him. The suspects were found but let go because a witness decided not to talk when it came time for the trial. Again, another failure inour justice system. A couple of days or weeks later the man got out of the hospital and the same teens followed him to an alley. The man said he had a gun and they ran off. Now slapping them on the wrist obviously didn't teach these kids anything except for that they could get away with this. It needs to stop!

All of these attacks are clearly racially motivated and to dignify these vicious assaults by calling them a "game" is ridiculous. This is the reason why concealed carry permits should be "shall issue" in all 50 states. Don't bring a fist to a gun fight!

It is always – always – always Blacks on Whites, and then people wonder why racism exists. These 'youths' are behaving like animals and until leaders of the black community start to become more vocal and really mobilize and work to end this type of despicable violence, it will continue on and on. Where's the Rev Al now?? And there is no disputing this is a hate crime, no one can argue that point. And don't give me that crap about growing up in poverty, I grew up in a slum 16 family apartment bldg that was nothing more than a flop house for the bar next door. Yet I would never think of committing a crime like this as I was raised to know you don't do things like this to fellow human beings, regardless of their dermatological makeup. Unfortunately, in my hometown, we also had a fatality associated with this behavior. A likeable town bar regular was walking home after a night of imbibing when a gang of black youths passed him and the biggest unloaded on the unsuspecting soul. He fell to the ground out cold, with the youth exclaiming: "I go one!!", and yes – he died! It's incidents like this that needlessly label an entire community because people don't come forward to condemn and help put a stop to these despicable actions. Disgusting and pitiful!!

This is sick. Let's not forget the praise that fighters get. UFC, boxing, MMA; glorifying the knockout. Want to be a star? Get the KO, get the spotlight. Treat them as 1st degree murderers. ZERO tolerance.

It's amusing that CNN completely ignores the fact that the attackers are typically black males and the victims are white. If it were the other way around, we'd be seeing "HATE CRIME" racially-motivated headlines, just like with Trayvon Martin. What a joke.
