Man Mows Lawn During Shutdown, Gets Thank You Chainsaw

Today we bring you an update on a man featured in the "Good Stuff" for the "Better Stuff."

Remember Chris Cox, the South Carolina wood carver who went to Washington with a lawnmower and a rake during the government shutdown?  Well he looked after our national monuments when the government wouldn't and his story becoming one of the good things to come out of the whole experience.

Chris is finally getting the thank you he deserves–  a fundraising drive to buy him a riding lawnmower, so he can do his work in style!  To date, they've raised more than $1,900.

Actually,  Chris refused the mower but did accept a new chainsaw to help him with his carving business.

On Wednesday, Cox got his thank you reward in front of the Lincoln Memorial.

The money left over will go to veterans and to keep his "memorial militia" movement alive.
