Man Mows Lawn At Monuments During Shutdown

In today's edition of the "Good Stuff," a South Carolina man takes grooming the lawn at national monuments in Washington personally, CNN's Chris Cuomo reports.

Chris Cox says, "It's up to us, at the end of the day, the citizens are the stewards of the memorials... I'd like to encourage all Americans to come forth and to find a memorial, to bring a trash bag and a rake."

Unfortunately, what he was doing is considered illegal and the parks service asked him to stop.

Chris Cox is my cousin, I would like to add to his so elequently delivered speech. I think our Government heads have forgotten who they work for. It's the tax payers that pay their paychecks. Since when do they get to say who gets paid and who doesn't. They work for the people. So, shouldn't they be asking the people how they want to resolve the issues in Washington? To much authority has been given to the politicians and the people have less to say about how our government is run than ever before. I believe the power should be given back to the people and the politicians should go back to assuming the role that was originally intended for them. to pass and inforce the laws that are decided by the people of this country. The american peoples taxes pay their pay checks and the people of this country are suffering from the irresponsibility of our government. What would happen if all of a sudden the people decided that they didn't have to pay their taxes? Then who wouldn't be getting paid? My bet is they would be resolving issues expediently. Food for thought. Have a great day.

how that can be illegal especially when the gov't is shutdown? he's taken it upon himself to keep national monuments, pillars of our history and pride as a nation, to keep clean and presentable as they should be. Even if the gov't is too selfish and bickering to do it themselves.

Uh... how can the Park Service ask him to do anything. Isn't that breaking the law?
