Call it the “great air robbery” if you will—the real one. In a story fit for a Hollywood movie, $1.2 millon has gone missing from a passenger flight.
More than a million dollars vanished Tuesday from a commercial flight between Switzerland and New York. The question is how; CNN's Mary Snow has more on the growing mystery.
“What's unclear is when the 1.2 million—all in 100-dollar bills—actually vanished,” Snow reports.
According to a law enforcement source, the money belongs to a US bank, shipped in a cargo container headed to a Federal Reserve facility. “The shortfall was discovered, the source says, when the shipment arrived there Monday.”
