Odd! I thought (think) the seating arrangement made it look like Michaela was the host and the others guests!!

I absolutely LOVE this trio – Chris, Michaela and Kate! I think that CNN has them well posistioned and I do not think that there is any intentional segregation as suggested by other posts, above. I watched the first show, from the start! I was sooo taken by the promos and the music – there was so much energy. I especially was taken by Michaela! Her natural positive energy shone through and I love her hair. I realise that it is not that "big" now, unfortunately. I am wondering if CNN is reponsible for that change. Des anyboy know?

      Hi, Kim,
Thank you for your question. The anchors work with our make-up artists to determine their styles.

Thanks so much for watching #NewDay!

To you Micheala LUv U .Now on the matter of Micheal Dunn . He was not charged with Jordan Davis's death because Micheal Dunn did what the Police does an get away with it. You always say I saw a gun when it comes to a black youth, that lets the boogieman out. Then the Police would yell stop resisting when even though you have submitted. That is to give the impression that you are resisting so it would justify them beating you. That is one reason why the L.A. county Sheriff Dept. is in deep trouble now.

Just Started watching New Day, and also noticed the sitting arrangement looks like a after thought, hope this evolves later over time. Great show though.

The seating is HORRIBLE... Subliminal discrimination going on every NEW DAY at CNN...Michaela you go girl!! Would love to see you right at front and center as you deserve. Obrigada

I agree with those who want to see CNN return to its roots. If I wanted to watch a cutesy, banter-filled morning talk show with occasional tidbits of news mixed heavily with the opinions of the hosts I'd watch Fox and Friends. I cannot stomach that though and unfortunately I also cannot stomach the new CNN – dumbed down – ratings over all else format. I miss having a real news channel. Thankfully we have pretty good local news where I live.

I must agree that the separation of Ms. Pereira from the rest of the anchors is sending the wrong message to all of your viewers especially your Latin viewers. This current configuration conveys to this Broadcast Engineer that she is not a valued part of the team of anchors which clearly is not the case. Please consider repositioning her or I'm going to assume you want to send this message of segregation. Come On CNN you're better than this!

I have been enjoying New Day very much the past few weeks. I live on the West Coast and when insomnia wakes me up early, it was either reruns of "Full House" or "New Day." I'm glad I found you. I am loving Chris Cuomo, always have. Kate is okay. But I love Michaela and don't think she is featured enough, even if she is "only" the new anchor and special reporter. Here's my suggestion. If she is not going to be part of the conversation with Chris and Kate, don't put her on the couch. Have her more comfortably seated behind a newsdesk. She looks very uncomfortable. However she is smart and well-spoken and I like her a lot. Keep doin' what you're doin' on this one. My New Day starts there. Jan

Michaela has come so far in her life. To start where she did and to end up where she is now, is amazing. She has a natural persona about her that comes across on t.v. as very honest and approachable. She stands out compared to the other two............................................the 108 is great!

After reading some of the other fan comments I can't help but add my tid bit with regards to why the camera does not capture all 3, it is predominately on Kate and Chris and it does give off an impression that Michaela is more of a guest than part of the hosting team, I find it off beat when Chris introduces himself and followed by Kate introducing her self and Michaela. Network needs to pay attention to the message that is being delivered to the viewers with the current format. Chris, presents very professionally; Michaela, presents extremely professional and last Kate, needs to stop with both the hair out of place and needs to stop flirting with Chris...sorry Kate but that comes across very loud and clear, adding a little more professionalism may score you more brownie points.

Michaela, love watching you on New Day...question, are you ever surprised at how often people have a difficult time pronouncing "Pereira"? I get it all the time and funny enough the announcer on New Day does not pronounce it properly, but your colleagues do it is rather humorous. When I heard that you were going to be part of CNN New Day, I have not missed a day, love how you deliver the news with passion and poise. Fan 4ever Ida Pereira

I'm not ready for heavy news before I wake up in the morning so to me New Day is delightful. After 40 years in LA we moved to Atlanta least year and with Michaela back on my TV it feels like a good friend moved back with me. I've missed the KTLA team with my cup of morning coffee.

I watch daily. Don't like the camera switching off center to pick up Michaela comments.
it is " If she didn't speak up, the audience would not know she was there"
Put her front and center or use the camera that shows all three(3) at all times

I like the show. I love Chris, I think he is a great professional. I find Kate way too stiff and serious, she seems to be more concerned that not a hair moves from her head. She needs to relax and be more natural. And being a Canadian and having heard so many fantastic comments about Michaela, I feel like she is placed at a lower level of importance than the Chris and Kate..which doesn't look good at all. She is not slim, white nor American... the message CNN conveys is that only slim blonde ladies get the chance to lead? I Give more chance to Michaela she seems to be smart, competent, down to earth, very good at what she does (based on previous comments on her experience in LA) but foremoste she seems to be a sweet lady, with much more fans than Kate. Put the 3 on the same level.

I love "New Day". Am going to be 69 yrs this year and it appeals to me. It moves quickly and they cover a lot of news. Chris is my favorite. Very professional and great delivery
Kate too much of a feminist at times. Maybe she is too young, jumping at any chance to throw Chris under the bus. Michaela is excellent. Keep thls program on the air CNN!!

I have watched Michaela Pereira since her ZDTV days and couldn't have been happier about her joining New Day. However, after watching the show for a number of weeks I can't help but feel concerned. I am concerned that an award winning journalist who is introduced as the show's anchor doesn't read the news until 10-12 minutes into the program instead of at the top of the hour. I am concerned that she isn't sitting next to Chris and is off camera during most of the show. It’s hard NOT to think this is about optics. It’s as if CNN isn’t quite sure what to “comfortably” do with Michaela as evidenced in the promo featuring the three (all of whom were originally billed as co-hosts) where Kate is standing in the front gently swaying her body as if to attempt to subtly hide Michaela's.

I think New Day has potential, but I think TPTB need to rethink how they are utilizing their talent. Michaela should be sitting at the front of the desk with the others. If The Today Show can fit four co-hosts into a shot, certainly CNN can fit in three. I more or less wrote of a version of this yesterday and it didn't see the light of day. Hopefully this one will.

I totally agree. I never heard of Michaela before the New Day show. It is difficult to understand her role or what she adds to the program. I was shocked to read that she is an award winning TV journalist because she she just seems to be reading lines from a telepromter and doesn't really seem to be into it. Her behavior appears to be stiff and uncomfortable. Just watching her makes me uncomfortable for her. She doesn't seem to want to be there. Balduan and Cuomo are colleagial and chatty but Michaela is off to the side and has difficulty joining in. On the few occassions when she tried to get a few words in it appears forced and not natural. Love the show - but Michaela needs to be in or out. It is awkward to see her this way.

        Good morning, Maxie,

Thank you for sharing your opinion.

Michaela Pereira is the news anchor for New Day. She will also be providing special reports, like the one-on-one interview with Chelsea Clinton. Today, and the remainder of the week, Michaela will be anchoring the 11 am – 12 pm ET hour, substituting for Ashleigh Banfield. We hope you'll tune in and give her the opportunity to show you how wonderful she is!

        Have a lovely day~

I concurr with many of the posts here. New Day is dreadful. I too thought I would give it a few weeks to settle in, but it's getting worse, not better. Drivel and fluff.
I've watched early morning CNN for many years now, pretty much every day as I get ready for work. I've seen a lot of shows and anchors come and go.
This is the works news show CNN has ever aired. I'm done watching.

I have been a fan of CNN for so long that I cannot remember not liking the network. But all the changes and the addition of Michaela, and I know it will take time to adjust, but I just don't like it. Cuomo and Kate are ok so far, but Michaela is too much. Would prefer Soledad any day compared to this show.

You simply cannot watch New Day on CNN,! The three goofs heading it have not one iota of charisma or rapport among themselves! The NBC honcho who ruined that network is now out to sink CNN! And this New Day fiasco is part of the demise..a big part. Get this crap off CNN and just stop trying to be solo cutesy and silly. This is not something I will watch..it is painful to see three people making idiots of themselves! Pure CRAP in the morning!

From the beginning I have noticed that the sitting arrangement was not the best due to Mikaela's side, she should have been on Chris's right side .Also why is Kate the anchor instead of Mikaela.

Started to watch this week NEW DAY because of Michaela and her days on Tech TV.
Do you notice that almost everyone on all the competing news morning programs- let's call them infotainment shows- GMA, TODAY, and NEW DAY, CBS THIS MORNING are using the large glass round table with the hosts around it.
Such a gimmick. In most cases the hosts trying to talk at one time so the that viewers can't quite tell what is going on and who is talking.
At least on CBS THIS MORNING they take time to let one person speak at a time. This morning on NEW DAY Chris, Kate and Michaela were all attempting to speak at the same time and I could not hear anything and muted the volume.
I ask they please stop this or they will lose me as a viewer.

I have been a loyal fan of CNN since 2000. The program changes are not good. CNN seems to be dumbing down with each new program edition.
I get up at 5:30 AM and watch the news until I leave for work at 7:45 AM. This show has been painful to watch. It reminds me of the View. All substance is gone, and the hosts spend more time with unnecessary banter than they do informing. There is way too much fluff. Christine Romans is the only interesting part of the program when she gets her few allotted minutes. She is poised, knowledgeable, well spoken, and knows how to get to the point, and make it profoundly.
When this new program debuted I decided to give it a fair chance for a week or two, however, I am losing interest fast. It is akin to someone scratching their fingernails on the chalk board whilst looking into the headlights of an on-coming truck, just like a deer. I hope, like the unfortunate deer, this program gets killed off soon.

I love to watch the News in the Morning, preferable News from all around the world. Facts...no gimmicks; I tried to watch the new show twice this week and turned it off twice. I am wondering what CNN's goal might be and I assume the goal is to be more like NBC and FOX News??? Go back to your roots and remember why people liked CNN in the first place!

Michaela I just love you, with your beautiful self!! Tell them I said they better fix that seating crap..The other two(whom I love also) When new day is on the air, they always seem to show the other two co-host, as if they are the lead anchors, I'm at home screaming get in there Michaela.....or they need to change the view..pull back camera men or have they ALL stay on the couch!! Im enjoying the show, keep it up, and I feel sorry for Chris...lol, come and get me if you need some help man!!!

I know CNN has made some changes recently, but this particular change runs parallel with The View. Lot's of nice stuff, but no substance. Two woman and a man, but really just a lot of bantering. It seems so staged and uncomfortable. I respect the hosts, but I think they want to do what they are being told and not what they really want to do for a job.

I would hope that CNN wants to present news and not fluff which is what I see happening on many fronts with the current programming changes now and in the last year or more.

Please keep to your original mission and not be swayed by ratings for an audience of 7th graders. Please and thank you
