I find if offensive that it was just said that it is not a big deal that Federal employees are furloughed and will likely be paid back. Yes, Federal employees may receive may back, but that it not guaranteed. Until a budget is approved, Federal employees are not receiving a pay check. This includes essential employees who are required to continue to report to work. They are working for free until this is resolved. Non-essential Federal employees are just hoping they get paid back later. Either way, Federal employees will have to start pulling from savings to pay bills if this continues for too long. CNN seems to have down played the impact the shut down has on the work force and economy.

      Good morning, Jessica,

Thank you for comments. We apologize if you were offended by a statement that was made.

New Day has been asking viewers if they believe the government shutdown is "no big deal" or "very important." Some have speculated that the shutdown isn't really having any effect, while others have noted that they are heavily impacted by the impasse in DC.

We appreciate your input and hope you'll continue to share your perspective with us.

      Have a super New Day!

Paula Deen is a getting a bum rap here. This happened back in the 80's and lots of people were using that word back then. She has helped lots of people and sure doesn't deserve this. I won't watch Food Network or by Smithfield products anymore.

Maybe if you got rid of Kate, it might be a better show. I know I might give it another try.
