Ferguson: Protesters Torch Cars but Fewer Arrests, Fewer Incidents

The tension here got thicker with every tick of the clock Tuesday night. But in the end, Ferguson was spared the kind of damage inflicted on it a day earlier.

There were fewer arrests and fewer instances of vandalism. And while there was plenty of anger among its residents, it was channeled in chants and not chaos.

"We were perhaps not optimistic but we were at least hopeful we would have a better night than we had," said St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar.

To be sure, there were some ugly incidents.

I don't want to hear anything more about the criminal Michael Brown.
Does CNN think they could find it in themselves to spend half the time and money on covering an actual victim, Tamir Rice in Cleveland, as they have on Michael Brown?

Now I feel it's time I reach out to you on the Mile Brown case first my prayers go out to the family. What I can't understand how top officials thought we would stand for all this injustice anybody everybody knows man or woman Black fear police we know they will kill us we wouldn't give them a reason to well go to jail before well do that. We teach out youth from young what to do when it comes to police. For years century's we have been going threw, from the time your born black your injustice place a upon you from your ancestors. I remember the racism from a child in 1970 and see still going on even in the White House. Nobody nobody understand the pain hurt fear distrust we as a race feel everyday, but most of all out Black Men My God everyday I pray for them with the weight they carry on their travel threw life. The day of the verdict a young man told meh life mean nothing to the people here I'm this country. I have been crying since the verdict cause me as a Black Woman know what this say to the Black Race and our men. My heart broken but I know my God working on this change God Bless You All
